Roman Jungblut is a sound and media artist with a particular focus on installation-based, performative, and often participatory formats. Alongside a long-standing musical and sonic art practice since their youth, Roman completed a diploma in Interdisciplinary Design at the Köln International School of Design (KISD) and holds an MA in Game Development & Research from TH Köln.

With an artistic-research-oriented approach, in recent years Jungblut has concentrated on interactive light and sound installations, often / primarily in public space. In collaboration with performers and musicians, they also create small- and large-scale performances involving sculptural and installative objects.
In their works, Roman often creates space for other artists and focuses on themes such as identity and technology, as well as social, cultural, and personal fears and tensions.
In addition to strong engagement at Cologne’s Ebertplatz, they are actively involved in other collectives for community-oriented urban development, such as Kulturhof Kalk e.V., GENAU e.V., and Computerclub 2000.
Since 2020, they have been a permanent member of the OPEKTA artist collective, and since 2023, part of MAISKIND – a collective for participatory public performances.
Roman runs their own audio studio in Köln-Bickendorf since 2009.
